Membership in the National Honor Society is both an honor and a responsibility. Students elected to membership are expected to continue to demonstrate the qualities of high scholarship, service, leadership, and character that are used to select members.
Membership is open to students in the tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades at Sangre de Cristo High School. They are selected by faculty or a faculty council. 

Scholarship. Candidates must have a cumulative scholastic average of at least 3.30 GPA or above.
Leadership. Leadership roles in terms of offices held both and out of school, as well as less objective leadership positions, may be considered.
Character. Honesty, responsibility, fairness, courtesy, tolerance and cooperation will be considered. 
Service. Valid questions are: What contributions has the candidate made to school, classmates, and community? What is the student's attitude toward service? Candidates will be evaluated using the activity form and teacher input. Students wil be rated in each of the four areas: scholarship, leadership, character and service.

    Meeting are held the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm.
  • NHS Invitations
    NHS invitations will be given out in the Spring to those sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or above, and show qualities of character, service, leadership and scholarship..
  • New Members inducted 3/2016
    New members received a membership card and pin.
    Junior members received a patch.

    Senior members can earn blue and gold cords for graduation upon completion of 24 service points.
